This is for my daughter.
The big sister.
Faster than the wind,
flying like a rocket,
I race along the path,
treasure jingling in my pockets.
Speeding past the trees,
ducks swimming on the lake,
I weave between the runners
and leave them in my wake.
“Woo-hoo! Wee-heeeeee!”
into the breeze I yell!
Closer, closer, closer-
ringing on my bell!
Squealing to a halt,
cheeks rosy from the flight,
I wait ‘til little brother
slowly ambles back in sight.
